{{ IN GENERAL !
- Everyone must be treated equally here at QRS. Please treat everyone with respect, including guests. We will not tolerate harassment, abuse, sexism, racism or anything that follows disrespect. Please think before you say anything to anyone, if you don't want it said to you, then don't say it at all. This is where the "Golden Rule" comes into play.
- Whatever the staff says, goes. Please respect all staff decisions and do not argue with them. If you disagree with what they have to say, tell them politely and with respect. If you cannot get things resolved, PM an admin and let them know the situation. But do it with respect. We do not want PM's of people whining because they didn't get their way. The admin has the last word to everything. That's final.
- Do not drag in character fights, out of character (vice versa). We do not want to receive PM's about this, nor do we want the chat box flooded with hatred. If you feel there is tension between you and another member, try to talk it out through PM's or come PM a staff member so we can help you solve things. Just do not drag in other members and do not flood our chat box. That gets really frustrating.
- Please be thirteen years or older before joining our site. Not only does this go against our rules, but this goes against the Proboards Terms of Use. So please, just be honest when you are registering. We do not need this site to get deleted or get written up because you happen to be twelve years old.
- No God Modding or Power Playing. This is a rule being repeated over and over from site to site, so I'm sure you know what we're talking about. If not, here's a quick description of what the two are. God Modding is a form of cheating by getting automatic hits and/or controlling the other player's character. Power Playing is when you control the other player's character. Example of GM: Jim tried to jump back, but didn't do it in time. Example of PP: Alice leaped over and scratched Jim's face, leaving three claw marks down his cheek.
- If you're going to be absent for any reason, please let us know. We all know that role playing is not the center of your universe and understand that people go on vacations or do other things in life. However, please do not just disappear. Please post and let us know a rough time frame you'll be gone. Why? Because if we hold an activity check and you do not post, you could be saved by that one post. So take time out and let us know! Because the code is: My horse is my other half.
- Cursing is allowed, however, it is limited. Please do not curse in OOC. It is an absolute no-no to curse at one another, even jokingly, because it is hard to take jokes/sarcasm online since you do not see the other person's face. Cursing in character is allowed, but again, do not swear in each sentence. If it suits your character or if your character is mad, you may curse, but don't over-due it or the privilege will be removed from you for a certain amount of time. Don't be like Ozzy Osbourne!(;
- The chat box is a privilege and should be used casually and for your personal use. Please do not think that having the chat box is a right, because it's not. If you abuse it in any way, shape, or form, we will have it removed or have you removed from it.
- When it comes down to posting, we have several requirements. For starters, we would like you to use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. We have a spell check button, and it's there for a reason. Please use it. Secondly, you may use a Word Document to type up your posts so you know you have the correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Take that extra step to make your posts that much better. Lastly, we'd like you to post at least 100 words per post. It is not terribly hard, simply describe every bit of information. You may post a long post 1,000 words plus (post to your heart's desire), but do not post less than 200 words.
- In character posts or out, we do not want to see chat speak. So, if u typ lyk dis, don't. Break the habit and take the extra time to spell it out. I understand people using, "lol", "brb", etc, but do not typ lyk dis. It's hard enough to read, I don't want to know how long it takes you to type it!
- After creating your character, please wait until a staff member accepts and moves your character biography before role playing your character. Please do not annoy/bug staff members through PM's or through the chat box to look and accept your characters. This will be thought of as harassment and you will get in trouble for it. Please be patient, we usually can get biographies accepted within twenty four hours.
- Once you have created your character and the biography has been moved, please claim your character's name. If you do not claim the name, and someone else creates a character with the same name and they claim it before you, then you'll have to rename yours. So be sure you do that!
{{ HUMAN RULES !
- Your humans may get married and have children. However, when you are going to make children (as in having sex) do not post that graphic. If you wish to take things further, take it to PM's. Just don't do it where all of us can see it because most of the time, we do not want to read/see/think about that.
- Your humans may have a job. However, do not expect your karma to go up once a week. We will update karma as soon as we can, but do not bug us. It'll be done once a month.
- Your human does not have to love horses, ride horses, or own a horse. Just because this is a horse and human RPG does not mean you have to create a horse loving human.
- Your human may not talk with your horse. Your human cannot and will not communicate with your horse or pet in any way. Example: "Want to go for a ride?" asked Alice to her horse Jimmy. Jimmy looked up and smiled at Alice, "Of course!" << That is a big no-no.
- Keep things realistic. This tags along with the rule above. I also wanted to say that if your human is blind, they probably wont be riding a horse by themselves, now would they?
- Your human cannot be special as in to tame a wild beast. If you rescue a horse from an abused home or get a wild horse from an auction, that does not mean you are magical enough to touch the horse and the horse is automatically calm and is your best friend. Things will take time. Like the rule above, keep it realistic.
- You cannot create humans younger than sixteen. We will not allow you to create a two year old child for the site because they'll need an adult around. If you're in a relationship and got pregnant and had a child, then yes, you may create younger children. But just to create one to role play, you may not create them younger than sixteen. That's that.
{{ HORSE RULES !
- Your horse may not speak with humans and communicate with them, however, they can communicate with one another. Example: Jimmy, a tall bay horse, wanted to go outside and play with his friends. Seeing Alice, his owner, walk by, Jimmy hit the stall door and called out to her, "Hey Alice! Do you think I could go out for a while?" Alice looked at Jimmy and nodded, "Of course Jimmy!" << That will not be accepted on this site. However, you may have your horses speak with one another. Example: In the pasture, Jimmy galloped around with his buddy Ace. "Ace, I bet you can't catch me!" called Jimmy as he took off. Ace laughed and galloped after him, "Oh yeah? Bet you I can!" << That is acceptable.
- Keep things realistic. If your horse is a total bad ass out of hell and wont let humans touch or ride him, and just because your best friend wants to role play with you doesn't mean you can all of a sudden change your horse's personality so that he's the sweetest and calmest boy around.
- Stallions and mares are allowed to reproduce when they reach three years. Until they are three years old, they are not allowed to be bred with one another.
- Stallions cannot jump over the fence to get to a mare that's in heat. Nor can a mare jump over the fence to flirt with a stallion; just wont work. This doesn't happen in real life and it's dangerous.
- If a horse is up for auction or for sale and it gets sold, the original creator of the horse is still allowed to RP him/her unless stated so otherwise. If I created Jimmy and I placed him up for sale and say, Tackle wanted to buy him, I'd still RP Jimmy unless I said so otherwise.
- Horses are allowed to be trained when they are two years of age. If your horse is still a yearling, you may not work him/her under saddle, however, may train him/her to stand, go into a trailer, halter, etc.
Rules can be changed/modified/removed at any time. Please stop by often to see if any of the rules have been changed. Thank you.
Haven't found the code? Look closely! It's simply random. & It does not have to do with Ozzy Osbourne!
